A number of architectural design workshops were facilitated for children aged 11-13 . The first discussed key components of architectural design, function, materiality, climate & light. A brief introduction to architectural drawing was given and the children created collaborative street elevations of their own building designs.
The second workshop saw them work in groups to create three dimensional representations of their designs. They were shown various model making techniques to enable them to communicate their ideas spatially.
The children responded well, producing very interesting work in the short span of the 2 hour workshops.
